COMING SOON The calendar is in development. This page describes what is planned.

What events appear

  • Birthdays of ancestors, on the day they were born ("Great-grandma Anna was born on this day in 1902").
  • Anniversaries of marriages.
  • Remembrance days on the anniversary of an ancestor's death.
  • Your own events, such as reunions and visits, that you add yourself and share with the family.

Each event says who it is about, what happened and where, so a child can look at the calendar and learn a little about someone every week.

Subscribe in your own calendar

Each family will get a private calendar feed link. Add it once to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook and new events appear automatically. The link will be secret and unguessable. Owners and admins will be able to replace it at any time, which stops the old link working.

Privacy of living people

The calendar will never include people who may still be alive. If a person has no recorded death date, we will assume they could be living unless their birth year makes that implausible. That means no living relative's birthday is placed on the calendar, and nobody's details are exposed to the wider family through it.

Only people in your family account will be able to see the calendar, and the feed link should be treated like a password.
